Ayam penyet AP

Ayam penyet AP

Yes, another smashed chicken (literally ayam penyet) place!

The menu.

The pecal! Pecal consists of 2-3 types of vegetables. Mainly
cucumbers, cabbage and kangkung. There's also fried tofu and
fermented soya bean cakes.  All that served with spicy peanut sauce.
Beware this is really, really spicy.
The crackers are good though.

Ayam penyet

Udang penyet - fried prawns with fried fermented soya beans,
tofu and spicy sambal.

The set of ayam penyet or udang penyet comes
with rice and these cute bottles of Coke!

Banana fritters

Banana fritters, pisang goreng

Makan apaw! Pisang goreng or banana fritters. Best eaten
straight away after it's fried. Crunchy  on the outside and
sweet on the inside.  Add either a cup of tea
or coffee and that's it!

Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak

Makan apaw! Nasi lemak an all time favourite! You can have it
nice and warm or eaten cold! It's good for breakfast, lunch,
brunch or dinner! Any time, any where!

The picture above is home cooked  nasi lemak, clockwise,
kangkung, fried anchovies, sambal tumis, boiled eggs,
bamboo shoot & cucumbers.

The rice is important but what sets each
nasi lemak different from the other is the sambal tumis!
There's sambal tumis ikan bilis (anchovies), sambal tumis
sotong (squid), sambal tumis telur (eggs),
sambal tumis kosong (plain).

For nasi lemak bought outside, I found two places
that has good sambal. The  nasi lemak stand at LRT Melati
and the stall at ss 21, in front of the bus stop and York
air cond.
