BANANA LEAF RICE - JAIPUR CURRY HOUSE, TTDI

Banana leaf

Makan apaw! Banana leaf! That yummy thing! You can either have it as a vegetarian meal or add some chicken or fish dishes! Jaipur Curry house is easy to find but parking can be really tricky!

Just a plain, ordinary sign but wait until
you go inside....

I had the vegetarian banana leaf rice. Papadoms, pumpkin,
cucumber, fried spinach, mango chutney, spinach curry.

Aerial view! In the small bowl in the middle is fried bitter gourd.
Yummy and crispy. And not forgetting those sourish, fried
dried chillies in yogurt , moor mollega.

Some rasam, to cleanse the palate.

The aftermath!

After all that, if you still have room,
try their humongous karipap (or currypuff, a small pie like,
filled with curry chicken and potatoes) which has a quarter slice
of a half boiled egg in it.

Or you can just cross the road
and buy some putu piring (steamed rice cakes
with grated coconut and palm sugar).
These sell like hot cakes too!

Just look for that pink signboard now!

The place is almost always packed especially during lunch and Fridays.
So go early!
